BHS SPIN NightThu, February 1, 2024 – Fri, February 2, 2024 BHS will be hosting our annual SPIN (Student Parent Information Night) on Thursday, February 1st from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm for students and parents who are interested in joining the Booker High School family. Please share this information with anyone with middle school students interested in attending Booker High School.The BHS SPIN Night is an open-house-style event that will highlight all the amazing academic, magnet, and extracurricular programs that we offer. Prospective families will be able to speak with school administration and representatives from our Visual Performing Arts (VPA), Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), and Law Academy programs, take small group tours of the campus, and enjoy student performances throughout the campus. In addition, representatives from BHS College & Career Room, Student Activities, and Athletics will showcase the myriad opportunities available to BHS students. Prospective families can park in any of our lots and will be greeted by our College & Career Student Ambassadors. Go Tornadoes!

Death by Chocolate-A Musical Presented by Booker HS VPA Dept.Sat, February 24, 2024 – Sat, February 24, 2024 Booker High School’s Visual and Performing Arts department is proud to announce the decadent event Death by Chocolate: The Lullaby of Broadway which pairs delicious desserts with delightful music for an evening of indulgence. 
 The three-show run will be Friday, February 23rd, and will have a show at 7 pm, while Saturday, February 24th, will have show times of 2 pm and 7 pm. Tickets are $15. Tickets can be pre-purchased at www.BookerVPA.com/events and will be available for purchase at the door.
 An amalgamation of the vast musical talent here at Booker High School, audiences will be transported to the Broadway stage through the music of George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein with many notable musical favorites. Chocolates and sweet treats will enhance the enjoyment of this formal event. When asked what an audience member should expect, the modern band and choir director Alexander Zickafoose replied, “it will be an experience that leaves them singing, dancing, and savoring every moment.”

This program reflects and honors the history of courageous students and dedicated teachers who have shaped the school and its culture.
