  • Registration for 2024-25 School Year Begins

    Tue, January 30, 2024 – Wed, January 31, 2024

Online Registration for 2024-25 opens January 30, 2024 and closes July 1, 2024!
Every student — new and returning — must register each year.
It is very important for families to register or re-register as early as possible. The district uses our enrollment numbers to determine staffing at each of our schools.
All families can register starting on January 30, 2024, even if you haven’t heard a final decision on your child’s placement. Should your student be placed in a program at a school other than your home school, adjustments will be made to your registration accordingly.

  • 5Essentials Survey

    Thu, February 1, 2024 – Fri, February 2, 2024

The 2023-24 Illinois 5Essentials Surveys for CCSD15 opens on Thursday, February 1!
The 5Essentials Survey gathers data related to five indicators that can be targeted to improve important student outcomes, including attendance and state test score gains.
It illustrates a school’s strength in multiple Measures of each of the five essential factors for school improvement: Ambitious Instruction, Effective Leaders, Collaborative Teachers, Supportive Environment, Involved Families.
It is an important tool for us to understand how our school is performing from a parent, student and staff perspective. The information we gather from this survey is not only used internally to make improvements to our school culture and climate, but also becomes part of online school ratings and rankings used across a variety of platforms.
If parent participation level is below 20 percent, we will not receive any parent information from the state regarding this important and valuable data. Parent feedback will also be omitted from our online ratings.
Thank you for your participation and valued feedback!

Each year, District 15 students in Grades 4-8 participate in Spelling Bees in their classrooms. The winners progress to their School Bees, and the winner from each school participates in the District 15 Annual Spelling Bee.
This year’s District Spelling Bee will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 7 p.m. All Spelling Bees held at the schools take place prior to Winter Break and comprehensive study guides will be provided to the district participants (school winners), prior to break. Each school will provide details on their School Bee.
The Scripps National Spelling Bee organization incorporates both spelling and vocabulary components in their competition. In District 15 we also have vocabulary rounds at the School and District levels of competition. Rounds 5, 10, and 15 are vocabulary rounds. In those rounds, students are given a word and two choices of the definition. Students who respond with the correct definition continue on in the Bee.
The District Spelling Bee will be streamed live on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 7 p.m. Click here for the live stream!

Monday, April 22nd: Masking in AutismJessica Beaty, Autism and IEP Advocate will discuss the significance of masking and internalizing feelings in Autistics. Teachers and parents often struggle to support students who have difficulty expressing their emotions and may mask their true feelings. This discussion will explore the potential reasons for this behavior and guide parents and school staff to identify the signs. By the end of this conversation, parents and teachers will have practical strategies to work together to meet student needs.
